At East Central High School, we value academic skills and knowledge attainment while also teaching the non-academic behavioral habits that will prepare students to be successful after graduation. Like academics, behavior will be taught, graded, and reported. The "behavior report" is designed to accurately communicate progress for those behavioral standards of safe, respectful, responsible, and strength of character to students, parents and teachers. Our intent is to challenge, encourage, and motivate every student to work hard as they master academic skills and content - while developing strong character and great work habits. The ECHS Film Appreciation Club will create a community of students who enjoy film by encouraging a deeper look into the world of cinema and all it has to offer. Students will analyze, interpret, and discuss motifs, social commentary, symbolism, and other cinematic techniques in order to gain a further understanding of a film's true meaning and its impact on culture.
